Christian Arroyo was able to experience something he had yet to be able to at Fenway Park.
The Red Sox infielder blasted the game-tying three-run home run in the fifth inning of Boston's eventual 12-8 win over the Houston Astros on Thursday night.
It was Arroyo's second home run of the season, but first in front of a packed Fenway Park, and it was something he'll never forget.
Or maybe he will.
“That was my first Fenway homer in front of fans,” Arroyo told reporters, as seen on NESN's postgame coverage. “It was pretty awesome. I kind of blacked out a little bit. I was...

The Red Sox, as they usual do, are hitting. Even last season, Boston had an above average offense. And this year, the Red Sox are third in baseball in runs, second in hits and fifth in OPS.
But Alex Cora's offense has been far from perfect. The Red Sox are middle of the road in on-base percentage and are on the wrong side of the league average in strikeouts. They have the fewest walks in the game.
So, there's been room for improvement. And, well, Thursday was the kind of offensive showing the Red Sox have been looking for.

Why Alex Cora Agrees With Infield Fly Rule Call In Red Sox-Astros Game

The Red Sox's win over the Astros on Thursday didn't come without a tad of controversy.
Boston and Houston were tied 8-8 in the bottom of the sixth inning with runners on first and second. Rafael Devers hit a fly ball to center field. that Astros shortstop Carlos Correa couldn't handle. J.D. Martinez moved to third while Xander Bogaerts made it to second, but Devers was called out due to the infield fly rule.
It certainly seemed like a questionable call considering Correa ran out to center field and ended up bobbling the ball.
Despite the confusion surrounding it, Red Sox...

A very weird play happened in the bottom of the sixth inning between the Boston Red Sox and Houston Astros.
With one out in an 8-8 game and runners on first and second, Rafael Devers hit a fly ball to center field. Astros shortstop Carlos Correa attempted to make the catch but was unable to do so. J.D. Martinez moved to third, and Xander Bogaerts to second, but Devers was called out due to the infield fly rule.

Saying the Red Sox beat the Astros on Thursday to avoid a series sweep doesn't even begin to describe it.
Boston earned a xx-xx win over Houston at Fenway Park in one of the craziest baseball games you'll see all season - maybe ever. Honestly, we want to keep this part brief because there's so much to get to.
We will say that Eduardo Rodriguez delivered another disappointing start and that everyone in the Red Sox lineup other than Alex Verdugo had a hit. The bottom three batters in the order combined for nine RBIs.
The Red Sox improved to 38-25 with the win while the...
