LaVar: I'd have beaten LeBron 1-on-1 'back in my heyday'

Posted On: Jul 17, 2018   |   Posted By: TheScore

If you thought LaVar Ball was just going to cede the L.A. spotlight to LeBron James , you were sorely mistaken. Forget whether LeBron is the best player ever to don the purple and gold; the Ball family patriarch would have you believe he's not even the best player currently plying his trade in Los Angeles. "Me and LeBron one-on-one, he too weak," Ball told Fanatics View in a recent interview. "Back in my heyday, can't nobody hold me. 270, benching 500? All I gotta do is back you in, I'll lift all of 'em up off they feet. "My will to win was too hard. One-on-one I bet on myself all day." Ball played one season of Division I college basketball at Washington State, where he averaged 2.2 points and 2.3 rebounds per game in the 1987-88 season. Ball has also claimed that he'd 'kill' Michael Jordan one-on-one in his heyday. Copyright © 2018 Score Media Ventures Inc. All rights reserved. Certain content reproduced under license.
