Beltre becomes all-time hits leader among foreign-born players

Adrian Beltre keeps climbing the all-time leaderboards. When the Texas Rangers third baseman lined a fourth-inning double against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Wednesday night, he broke a tie with Ichiro Suzuki for most all-time hits by a player born outside the United States .

It was the 3,090th hit of Beltre's career, good for 22nd-most in MLB history all on his own. He trails legendary slugger Dave Winfield by 20 hits for 21st on the list, and he'll need only five more to catch Alex Rodriguez 's career tally of 3,115. In April, Beltre passed Rod Carew for most hits by a player born in Latin America when he doubled against the Oakland Athletics.
