The 118th U.S. Open begin Thursday at Shinnecock Hills in New York, where the top golfers in the world will vie to win golf's second major of 2018.
Brooks Koepka is the defending champion, and he'll try to become the first repeat winner of this major championship since Curtis Strange in 1988 and 1989. The last player to come close to repeating was Tiger Woods, when he won in 2000 and 2002.
