David Andrews Acknowledges Losing Nate Solder Was ‘Definitely Tough'

8 monthes ago   |   By NESN

FOXBORO, Mass. - Just over a month in the New England Patriots' offseason workout program, the team is still holding an open competition to replace starting left tackle Nate Solder.
Patriots offensive line captain David Andrews acknowledged Thursday it was difficult losing Solder to the New York Giants in free agency .
“It's tough,” Andrews said at Gillette Stadium. “Nate was such a good person to me, good leader, a guy I looked up to and learned a lot from in the time I was here. A guy who did it the right way. Just seeing how he carried himself with everything he dealt with outside of...

Is Georgia The New Rutgers? Patriots Roster Now Littered With Ex-Bulldogs

FOXBORO, Mass. - David Andrews naturally was thrilled to see his New England Patriots use both of their first-round picks in the 2018 NFL Draft on fellow Georgia products.
He's excited to play in an offense that now features an additional Bulldog on the offensive line and another in the backfield .

“My wife stayed up and watched ,” Andrews recalled Thursday at Gillette Stadium. “I was in bed. I saw Isaiah get drafted, and after that, I passed out. Then she came busting in the room about Sony getting drafted, and...

Danny Shelton Admits ‘It Sucked' When Patriots Didn't Pick Up His Option

FOXBORO, Mass. - Presented with the opportunity to lock up recently acquired defensive tackle Danny Shelton for the next two seasons, the New England Patriots declined to do so.
The Patriots earlier this month chose not to pick up the fifth-year option in Shelton's rookie contract, which would have kept him in New England through the 2019 season. He's now scheduled to hit free agency next spring, though the Patriots have plenty of time to sign him to an extension before then if they so choose.
Speaking with reporters Thursday at Gillette Stadium, Shelton, who spent his first three seasons...

Danny Shelton Enjoying Patriots' More Difficult Offseason Workout Program

8 monthes ago   |   By NESN

FOXBORO, Mass. - Water is wet, the sky is blue and the New England Patriots work harder than the Cleveland Browns.
That last piece of obvious information was confirmed Thursday when Patriots defensive tackle Danny Shelton addressed reporters at Gillette Stadium.
The first question posed to Shelton was how the first few weeks of the offseason workout program has been going for the recent addition. Shelton was acquired in a trade with the Browns in March.
“Going great,” Shelton said. “Feel like my body's adjusted now to all the running. It's been crazy, but I like it.”
Shelton said the...
