The Los Angeles Kings have agreed to a three-year contract with Ilya Kovalchuk, the team announced Saturday.
The 35-year-old winger returns to the NHL after spending the past five seasons in Russia's Kontinental Hockey League. He won the league's scoring title with 31 goals and 63 points in 53 games this season for SKA St. Petersburg.
“We are excited to add Ilya to the LA Kings organization,” said Kings general manager Rob Blake in a press release. “He gives us an added element of skill and scoring along with a desire to win.”
