The Vikings defense became the NFL's first since the Tampa Bay Buccaneers of the 1998 and 1999 seasons to force the fewest passing touchdowns in back-to-back seasons.
Historical success wasn't uninterrupted. Early hiccups and an infusion of young talent for ailing starters led to the ninth-most explosive pass plays allowed , tied for the Vikings' worst mark in the Mike Zimmer era.
