The San Francisco Giants and left-hander Scott Kazmir agreed to a minor-league contract, according to Buster Olney of ESPN. Kazmir, who's a three-time All-Star, hasn't pitched in the majors since 2016. However, his fastball velocity reportedly reached 92-93 mph in a recent bullpen session. The 37-year-old hasn't been with an MLB team since the Atlanta Braves released him in March 2018. Kazmir owns a career 4.01 ERA and 1.35 WHIP while pitching with the Tampa Bay Rays, Los Angeles Angels, Cleveland Indians, Oakland Athletics, Houston Astros, and Los Angeles Dodgers over a 12-year run...

Comeback season is upon us, it seems. The Giants have agreed to a minor league contract with left-hander Scott Kazmir , reports ESPN's Buster Olney. He'll be invited to Major League Spring Training.
It's been nearly five years since Kazmir, now 37, pitched in the Majors with the Dodgers. Current San Francisco president of baseball operations Farhan Zaidi was serving as general manager under president Andrew Friedman in Los Angeles at that point, and he was also an assistant GM in the Athletics' front office in 2013 when Oakland inked Kazmir to a two-year deal.
