MINNEAPOLIS - Dexter Fowler reached base four times and drove in two runs in his return to the lineup and the St. Louis Cardinals beat former starter Lance Lynn and the Minnesota Twins 7-5 on Wednesday.
Matt Carpenter had three hits after being demoted to seventh in the batting order, and Tommy Pham added two hits, including his eighth homer of the year. St. Louis had lost five of seven games, scoring more than three runs just once.

Dexter Fowler and Matt Carpenter were at the center of St. Louis' 13-hit attack that began against former Cardinal Lance Lynn and continued against six Twins relievers. Fowler drove in the game's first two runs and reached base four times. Carpenter's first three-hit game of the year featured knocks down both lines and a two-bagger to the right-center-field wall. In Carpenter's usual No. 3 slot, Paul DeJong doubled home a run and scored another. Tommy Pham broke out of a minor funk with a solo homer in the eighth.
