5 monthes ago   |   By TheScore

The Oakland Athletics have non-tendered 2018 All-Star closer Blake Treinen, according Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle. Treinen had a breakout season in 2018, authoring a 0.78 ERA over 80 1/3 innings while notching 38 saves to finish sixth in AL Cy Young voting. However, the right-hander lost the closer's gig in 2019, posting a 4.91 ERA. More to come. Copyright © 2019 Score Media Ventures Inc. All rights reserved. Certain content reproduced under license.

A's Non-Tender Blake Treinen

5 monthes ago   |   By MLB Trade Rumors

The A's have non-tendered reliever Blake Treinen , reports Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle. He'd been projected for a $7.8MM salary, which the low-payroll A's evidently found too steep.
Today's news perhaps isn't too surprising; MLBTR's Jeff Todd and Steve Adams identified Treinen as a non-tender candidate last week. Oakland doesn't figure to have much wiggle room in the budget this offseason, no doubt contributing to their efforts to find a taker for Treinen, Jurickson Profar , and Josh Phegley before tonight's non-tender deadline. Profar ultimately landed in San Diego today...

The Houston Astros are reportedly non-tendering pitcher Aaron Sanchez , according to MLB.com's Mark Feinstand.

- Mark Feinsand December 2, 2019
Sanchez was traded from the Toronto Blue Jays to the Houston Astros on July 31. The Astros placed the right-handed pitcher on the 10-day injured list on Aug. 21 with right pectoral soreness.
