Quartet of Marlins relievers drawing interest

6 monthes ago   |   By MLB News

Less than three weeks until the non-waiver Trade Deadline, the Marlins are fielding calls on a number of players, and the organization is more willing to deal players closer to free agency than those still under team control. The Marlins are receiving plenty of calls on reliever Brad Ziegler, a ground-ball specialist, and closer Kyle Barraclough. Lefty Adam Conley and to a lesser degree, rookie right-hander Drew Steckenrider are also attracting attention.

6 monthes ago   |   By NESN

6 monthes ago   |   By NESN

The Boston Red Sox are a Major League Baseball-best 64-29 and currently sit 3 1/2 games ahead of the rival New York Yankees in the American League East.
The Sox have been buoyed by a solid starting rotation, terrifying offense and an impressive bullpen. But as the non-waiver trade deadline approaches, Boston obviously has been mentioned in a number of trade rumors , whether it be for another bullpen arm or an All-Star talent like Manny Machado .
While reinforcements always are welcome, manager Alex Cora is more than happy with the current makeup of his team.

Red Sox Trade Target: Raisel Iglesias

6 monthes ago   |   By Yahoo Sports

There's a probelm with the Boston Red Sox's bullpen. All-Star closer Craig Kimbrel and the career-year of Matt Barnes gives the team lock down options in the last two innings, but the rest of the relieves have fluctuated between excellent and terrible, with a relative lack of depth to show for it. Joe Kelly is in the midst of a major slump. Heath Hembree has been solid, but its unclear if that's sustainable. Hector Velazquez isn't getting many chances in high leverage situations. The rest of the group has been a revolving door. All told, the Red Sox still have one of the best bullpens in...

Such is life ahead of July 31, as teams are looking to assemble the perfect collection of arms for the stretch run and the postseason, where pressure mounts and late-inning matchups can be the difference between an early exit and playing deep into...
