The Texas Rangers right-hander, who will turn 45 later this month, continued his remarkable season Tuesday with a dominant 7 2/3 shutout innings against the Seattle Mariners in a 5-1 Texas victory. On the cusp of his 45th birthday, Colon (2-1) put together arguably his best performance this season. Colon was excellent spotting his fastball and using his breaking pitches to keep Seattle off balance, a night after the Mariners scored nine runs.
Delino DeShields gave Texas the lead with a two-out RBI double in the eighth inning to score Isiah Kiner-Falefa. The Rangers added four more in...

Bartolo Colon takes 102 MPH shot to stomach, laughs it off

3 monthes ago   |   By Yardbarker

During the fourth inning of Wednesday's Texas Rangers and Seattle Mariners game, veteran pitcher Bartolo Colon took a vicious shot to the stomach off the bat of Jean Segura. Though, it's hardly surprising to any of us who've watched Colon over the years that he not only stayed in the game but laughed it off. Those who were watching at home (the game was being broadcast on Facebook Live) had a bit of fun on social media. Apparently, Colon's not-so-secret superstitious habit continues to serve him well.
