Why Mark Teixeira Believes Red Sox Are ‘Destined' To Win World Series

4 monthes ago   |   By NESN

Mark Teixeira has seen enough of Major League Baseball's postseason to know which team is coming out on top.
It's the Boston Red Sox.
Boston clinched the American League title Thursday night when they finished off a dominating performance against the defending World Series champion Houston Astros in the AL Championship Series. After dropping Game 1 of the series, the Red Sox rolled over the Astros, winning four straight to eliminate the team many had pegged as the eventual champions.
The Red Sox will await the winner of the National League Championship Series between the Los Angeles...

Astros player unimpressed by latest explanation of fan interference call

4 monthes ago   |   By Yardbarker

The Houston Astros were knocked out of the ALCS in five games by the Boston Red Sox, but it's fair to say a lot of players on the losing team feel that things could have and should have been a lot closer. The most controversial play of the series came in the first inning of Game 4, when a potential game-tying Jose Altuve home run was ruled an out by umpire Joe West, citing fan interference. That call was still a focus on Friday, a day after the Astros were eliminated, with West further defending his call on the...

At midnight in a hallway at the far side of the visitor's clubhouse at Minute Maid Park, Alex Cora and Dave Dombrowski were met by A.J. "He's proud of me," Cora told NBC Sports Boston.

How Eric Gagne Helped Fix Craig Kimbrel's Pitch-Tipping Problem Before Game 5

4 monthes ago   |   By NESN

Craig Kimbrel had been struggling mightily during the Boston Red Sox's playoff run, but he recorded his first scoreless outing of October during the Red Sox's American League pennant-clinching win Thursday against the Houston Astros.
And he has a former Red Sox reliever to thank for the turnaround.
Following Boston's 4-1 win in Game 5 of the AL Championship Series, Kimbrel told reporters that Eric Gagne, who pitched for the Red Sox in 2007 and is a good friend of manager Alex Cora, noticed the Sox closer was tipping his pitches during a rocky outing in Game 4, and he immediately texted...

Did Alex Bremgan's Instagram Stunt Fuel Red Sox? Xander Bogaerts Opens Up

4 monthes ago   |   By NESN

Why opposing players provided the Boston Red Sox with bulletin board material in these Major League Baseball playoffs remains a mystery.
The Red Sox didn't lose a game in the American League Division Series after New York Yankees star Aaron Judge blasted “New York, New York” at Fenway Park following Game 2, and the same was true after Alex Bregman took to Instagram in an attempt to troll Boston leading up to Game 3 of the AL Championship Series.
Achieving the ultimate goal of winning a World Series is enough to get any player fired up, but Red Sox shortstop Xander Bogaerts didn't hide from...
